Proper Peptide Storage

Peptides are fragile molecules. Heat, light, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles all accelerate degradation. Here’s how to keep them intact.
Lyophilized (powder) state
- Store refrigerated (2–8 °C) for short-to-medium term use.
- For long-term storage (months to years), freeze at −20 °C.
- Protect from light; keep the vial in its box or wrapped in foil.
Lyophilized peptides are remarkably stable. Most remain potent for 1–2 years refrigerated.
Reconstituted state
- Refrigerate immediately (2–8 °C).
- Use within the window appropriate to your diluent: ~24 h for sterile water, up to ~30 days for bacteriostatic water.
- Never freeze a reconstituted peptide — ice crystals shear and denature the molecule.
Transport
Use an insulated container with a cold pack during transport. Never leave peptides in a hot vehicle.
